Advanced Maker Workshop (Ages 13+): Sewn Circuits
Come tinker with us! Explore electric circuits in a new way by sewing them! A Science World Tinkerer will show you how to use conductive thread, LEDs and felt to create your own whimsical light-up projects. At the end, you ll have your very own sewn circuit! No prior sewing experience is required.
What is "tinkering"?
Tinkering is mindful messing about with tools and materials, with the goal of finding out their possibilities and limitations. When we tinker, we learn about scientific topics, make new things from existing parts, solve problems, and learn by making mistakes.
Some specialized materials for this workshop will be provided by Science World. Other materials will not and will need to be provided by the participant to complete the activity. Science World will provide:
